Our Staffing Policy: - (1.1) Staff will only be taken on if they are ‘true dog lovers’. We will ensure they are given the required levels of training. (1.2) We do not have veterinary training, and cannot be liable for any treatment or diagnosis of any injury incurred at the daycare centre. (1.3) If your dog is injured at the centre, you should have this checked out by your vet, at your cost. (1.4) Your dog will always be supervised and never left alone.
General: - (2.1) We would recommend that your dog comes at least once a week to the day centre as this will help them become more sociable. (2.2) We accept dogs and puppies from the age of 12 weeks and two weeks after their first vaccinations. (2.3) All full males will need to be neutered, and puppy dogs between the age of 10-12 months. (2.4) Bitches will not be accepted whilst on heat for at least 3 weeks. (2.5) We expect all those visiting to be socialised. We are a ‘cage free’ environment )occasionally used for unruly behaviour). We will try to give dogs as many different activities to do throughout the day so they will go home contented. Dogs have access to rest areas. (2.6) Dogs will get dirty at times whilst attending the centre but we will do our best to return them as clean as possible. (2.7) We will treat your dog individually as our own. (2.8) Fresh water will be available at all times. So please do not allow your dog to drink excessively on returning home as this can cause health problems. (2.9) For some dogs, half-days may be recommended initially to help them to adjust to the daycare environment. (2.10) Fees are charged at a daily prevailing rate, and must arrive between 07:30am-09:30am for a full day or 1:00pm for a half day and must be collected between 4:00p, and 6:00pm. Payment is required in full on the day. Consents: - (2.11) You agree for us to use photographic and digital recordings of the facility and your dog(s) on a regular basis for marketing on Facebook, YouTube, etc.
Good Health: - (3.1) You will need to provide proof confirming that your dog’s inoculations are kept up-to-date. No dog can be accepted for ‘daycare’ unless they have been inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvo Virus. Treatment against Kennel Cough (KC) is also required (it is airborne so easily contracted anywhere) in the best interest for all the dogs. Your dog should be in good health and wormed regularly, and should we feel it necessary for any treatment required whilst in our care, for internal or external parasites (fleas, worms, etc) this will be charged back to you on your return. (3.2) Should it ne necessary at our discretion for a vet to be called or visit for pre-existing condition or urgent attention, fees incurred will be the responsibility of the owner. On accepting these conditions, you are signing that your dog is in good health. (3.3) Current or ongoing problems with your dog’s health or temperament must be identified to us at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse any dog that we consider to be of an unreliable temperament or sick at the time of visiting the centre.
Accidents: - (4.1) Accidents may occur from time to time due to scraps, boisterous play, etc. Every dog has its own personality and can be unpredictable at times, and there is always a level of risk. Whilst every possible attention is given to each dog in our care, accidents, dog fights, dog bites (which can cause injury), and even death could occur. We will endeavour to ensure that these types of incidents are minimised but dogs will be dogs! (4.2) Although we make every effort to ensure your dog is cared for to our usual high standard, we cannot be liable for injury, loss or death. (4.3) In admitting your dog for daycare you are signing to say they have not harmed or bitten or shown aggressive behaviour towards any person or other dog. Any behaviour that is dangerous or inappropriate may result in dismissal of your dog from the daycare centre. (4.4) You are signing to accept that your dog(s) are attending the daycare centre entirely at your own risk. (4.5) We would strongly advise you to make sure you have your dog(s) fully insured as Happy Dogs R Us will not accept responsibility for the injury, illness, death or third party liability. (4.5) Should we feel the need to separate them in the interest of the animal’s own safety, this will be done with care to continue to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
Safety: - (5.1) At all times the safety of your dog is our priority. As an owner, you must understand your dog is sharing facilities where all of the above would apply. (5.2) Dogs who have not been regularly socialised are often very boisterous and not very polite with other dogs. These dogs can be at a higher risk of fights and bites and fearful aggression. These dogs will be reviewed regularly for improvement in their behaviour.
